In-Home Support - Parents As Teachers

This is a voluntary in-home program for parents who want assistance to create the best possible healthy start for their children, prenatally to age 5. A trained Parent Educator regularly visits with individual families. Through their relationship they are able to help new parents discover their own strengths. Using the Parents as Educators program a Parent Educator:

Provides information and activities to stimulate your child's brain development (neuroscience)
Encourages positive parent-child interaction through age appropriate games, songs and stories
Provides information about child development
Provides strategies for guiding children’s behaviors
Support to achieve parenting goals
Addresses isolation and connects families to community resources
Provides hands on activities for both parents and child starting from birth to stimulate all areas of development (social, emotional, cognitive, and physical) in the home
