In-Home Support - Parents As Teachers

This is a voluntary in-home program for parents who want assistance to create the best possible healthy start for their children, prenatally to age 5. A trained Parent Educator regularly visits with individual families. Through their relationship they are able to help new parents discover their own strengths.

A Parent Educator:
  • Encourages positive parent-child interaction through age appropriate games, songs and stories
  • Provides information about child development
  • Provides strategies for guiding children’s behaviors
  • Addresses isolation

This program is free to qualifying parents and open to all parents on a fee for service basis. Contact the Family Support Programs Manager at 459-7377, extension 225.
